Misonics supplies industrial ultrasonic cleaners and parts washers to maintenance workshops in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Mine sites, aircraft hangars and marine engineering shops strip, clean and rebuild components on site, without freighting them out to be cleaned.
Benchtop MSX machines for injectors and fuel parts. Floor tanks for long parts. EvoSonic and UltraTecno tanks for heads, blocks, final drives and coolers.
Parts customers sent us, photographed as they arrived and again after a documented cycle.

Cat 3516 head ports. Carbon lining both ports at 15 minutes. Bare cast iron to the back of both ports at 60 minutes, in MetalTek 100 at 30% and 70 °C. See the case study.

Drill pick holder. Rock dust, grease and corrosion baked into the shank and wear collar. The tool-steel face and weld detail readable again. More on mining.

Pick holder bore. The bore is where a pick seizes. Scale and packed fines out, with no reaming.

Dust suppression nozzle. Mineral scale out of the swirl chamber and off the seat. Nothing abrasive touched the orifice.
Haul truck, dozer and excavator components come off carrying baked carbon, grease and mineral mud. Hot alkaline chemistry and ultrasonics take them back to bare metal with no abrasive and no change in size.
Cylinder heads, blocks, liners, valves, pistons and rods. See piston ring grooves.
Radiators, oil coolers and intercoolers, cleaned inside the core where rodding cannot reach, in CoreKleen HX.
Final drives, transmission parts, valve blocks and cylinders.
Pick holders and drill components, cleaned through the bore.
Dust suppression nozzles, with scale out of the orifice so the spray pattern holds.
Injectors, fuel parts and workshop components in the same tank, in baskets. See automotive.

The reference job is a Cat 3516B overhaul, the V16 in the Cat 793D haul truck. Its heads came back to bare cast iron in 60 minutes. Valves, springs and hardware went through the same bath in the same basket. The block is the part that decides the tank.
Turbine and piston aircraft, fixed-wing and rotary, carry the same families of parts that clean well in an ultrasonic tank.
Fuel nozzles, combustion liners and turbine hardware, where carbonised fuel and soot are baked on.
Servo valves, actuators and pumps, where varnish sits on surfaces with micron tolerances. Bench work runs in an MSX 30.
Oil coolers and heat exchangers.
Landing-gear components and fasteners.
Brulin chemistry carries approvals from Boeing, Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney and GE Aviation, including BAC 5749 and BAC 5753. 815 QR-NF carries PMC 1339.
Machines with a controller store a recipe for each part number and log every cycle for the maintenance record.
Check the engine or airframe maintenance manual for the cleaning materials approved for each part before you use any cleaner. More on the aerospace and aviation page.
Marine engineering shops clean two kinds of soil. Salt, scale and growth come from the seawater side. Carbon and sludge come from the fuel and oil side.
Charge-air coolers, plate and shell exchangers, box coolers. Descale takes the scale.
Pumps, valves and strainers in bronze, copper-nickel and stainless steel.

Exchanger tube ends. Scale and oil sludge bridged the tubes. Open again after the cycle, with no rodding.

Exchanger bundles. Tubesheet, tubes and shell in one immersion. Coolers usually need an alkaline bath, then an inhibited descale. See the cooler and exchanger case study and the marine page.
Settings below are from each product's technical data sheet. Chemistry is matched to your parts and quoted with the machine. Rinse after every cycle. The full list is on chemicals.

Baked carbon, paint and rust back to bare metal on cast iron heads, blocks and steel parts. The bath used on the Cat 3516 heads.
Ferrous parts only. Never aluminium.

Grease, oil and carbon off steel, cast iron, aluminium and titanium. Carries Pratt & Whitney approval PMC 1339.
Not for copper, brass or bronze.
Product page →
Oil sludge and fin fouling out of radiators, coolers and exchanger bundles.

Waterside scale and salt out of coolers and seawater parts, and mineral scale off nozzles.
Never above 60 °C in an ultrasonic tank.
Product page →
Carbon and sludge off intake, EGR and fuel-side parts. Aluminium is protected at working strength.
Not for zinc, galvanised or magnesium.

Clean iron and steel flash rust while warm and wet, and faster in a humid climate. A dip after the rinse stops it.
MSX machines for injectors, fuel and hydraulic parts and aircraft components. EvoSonic tanks for heads, blocks, final drives and coolers. UltraTecno ACM tanks with a platform lift for the heaviest parts.

The EvoSonic range runs from the EVS 180 through the EVS 1200 and EVS 1500-PL to the EVS 7000-PL. Compare them on the EvoSonic page or on industrial ultrasonic tanks. Exchanger bundles and large fabrications go in custom tanks to 46,000 L.
An ultrasonic parts washer cleans inside drillings, galleries and cores that a solvent tank and brush do not reach. Pick it by the parts and the power on site.
The MSX 15 and MSX 30 for injectors, fuel and hydraulic parts and aircraft components. 240 V from a standard 10 A socket.
The MSX 140 and MSX 240 carry a weir, oil capture and filtration for mine workshop soils. 415 V three phase.
The UltraWash washes, rinses and dries behind one door in about twenty minutes, for repeat batches of the same parts.
How an ultrasonic machine compares with a solvent washer is on the ultrasonic parts cleaner page.
PNG's 240 V, 50 Hz supply and plug match Australia's. Larger machines are 415 V three phase, checked against the site supply at quotation.
Quoted to Port Moresby, Lae or your nominated port with the machine.
Stainless 316 tanks, insulated on the floor and EvoSonic machines. Every wearing part is replaceable.
On the MSX 140, MSX 240 and every EvoSonic. The bath keeps working for weeks between changes. See oil removal and weirs.
Our engineers read the controller, diagnose and adjust from Melbourne. Most faults are found without a site visit. Spares are held in Australia.
Iron and steel parts finish in Anti-Rust, so they can queue for machining without blooming.
